Les résultats sont tombés dimanche, jour d’ouverture du salon Agritechnica. C’est le Valtra T254 Versu Smart Touch qui se voit couronné du titre convoité du “Tractor of the Year 2018”. Et comme si cela ne suffisait pas au finlandais, ce tracteur remporte également le titre du “Best Design”, pour son look affirmé.
Dans la catégorie “Best Utility”, c’est McCormick qui se distingue pour son X6.440 VT-Drive.
Enfin, Fendt emporte le titre du “Best of Specialized” pour son 211 Vario V.
Pour être élu “Tracteur de l’année”, il faut répondre à certains critères, notamment d’être en production depuis le 15 septembre de l’année en cours et de ne jamais avoir remporté de titre lors d’éditions précédentes. Les 24 membres du jury, issus de revues spécialisées devait voter avant mi Octobre pour l’un des cinq participants de la classe “Tractor of The Year”, cinq dans les “Best Utility” et autant dans les “Best of Specialized”, en tenant compte des critères comme le moteur, la transmission, l’électronique, l’hydraulique, le confort, les innovations, le design, les options et l’aspect économique avec un rapport prix/puissance intéressant.
